His two wheeled global journey, and eventual disappearance in Turkey, are chronicled in David V. Herlihy's book <em>The Lost Cyclist</em>. Last year Herlihy came to Pittsburgh and <em>Essential Pittsburgh</em> to celebrate <a href="http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/neighborhoods-city/a-lens-on-lenz-on-the-south-side-635673/">Frank Lenz Day</a>.
