South Park en Green & Innovation Festival Offers More Vendors and Presentations This Year <p>A long-standing fall tradition at Hartwood Acres is back for another year, and organizers say it will be bigger than ever.&nbsp;</p><p>The Allegheny County Green &amp; Innovation Festival and Hay Day will have more vendors, presentations and crafts than previous years when it opens for business Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.</p><p>County Special Events Coordinator Katie Harbison said last year&rsquo;s high attendance was unexpected.</p> Fri, 27 Sep 2013 17:39:18 +0000 Tim Camerato 17269 at Penn State Master Gardeners Host Field Day <p>Penn State Master Gardeners of Allegheny County want you to stop and smell the roses (or garlic and basil).</p><p>They will be hosting their annual “Garden in the Parks Field Day” Saturday at the gardens in North and South Parks.</p><p>“We get to show the garden to guests as well as talk to them about native pollinators and proper composting, and we also have garlic tasting, tomato tasting and basil pesto tasting, and really just get to educate the public,” said Philip Bauerle, Interim Master Gardener Coordinator in Pittsburgh.</p> Fri, 16 Aug 2013 14:16:32 +0000 Jessica Nath 14869 at
