Tue, 17 Dec 2013 21:51:18 +0000 Heather McClain 21551 at Ground Broken on Braddock Urgent Care Clinic <p>After more than three years without a hospital, Braddock is set to get another medical facility.</p><p>On Friday, ground was broken on a new commercial development that will include a Highmark and Allegheny Health Network full service urgent care center, to serve the more than 2,100 people who live in the borough.</p><p>“They’ll have access to health care services as well as good, positive development on the main drag of Braddock,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.</p><p>UPMC Braddock closed its doors in early 2010.</p> Fri, 06 Dec 2013 21:24:15 +0000 Deanna Garcia 20964 at Braddock Carnegie Library to Lend Artwork as Part of Carnegie International <p>Starting Sunday, the <a href="">Braddock Carnegie Library</a> will expand its lending offerings to something a bit more visual thanks to a partnership with the 2013 Carnegie International.</p><p>Patrons will now be able to check out original artwork along with traditional library offerings.</p> Thu, 03 Oct 2013 15:33:17 +0000 Deanna Garcia 17442 at 2 Braddock Cops Suspending for Fighting <p>Two Braddock police officers have been suspended after getting into a fight at their police station.</p><p>Braddock Mayor John Fetterman said the fight started around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The officers weren't injured in the "very short" altercation according to the mayor.</p><p>The unidentified officers have been suspended without pay.</p><p>Authorities say the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office will investigate.</p><p>Fetterman said the fight ended when the men realized they were behaving inappropriately and when another officer in the room broke up the fight.</p><p></p> Fri, 08 Mar 2013 15:50:03 +0000 Mark Nootbaar 2261 at
