Mike Sauter

Vice President, Broadcasting

Mike Sauter manages the on-air programming for WESA. Mike has worked in various roles at Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting since 2003.

He was born in Rochester, NY, and began listening to radio drama and call-in shows when his age was still in single digits. After studying Television and Radio at Ithaca College, Mike worked in commercial music radio through the 1990s at the pioneering alternative rock station WHTG in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Mike switched to public radio in 2001, and became the local All Things Considered host for WBJB in Lincroft, NJ. He then moved to Pittsburgh and held a number of titles with WESA's sister station WYEP. He was promoted to his current position in 2021.

Mike lives in the East End with his wife, teenage daughter, a French bulldog, and a rather loud cat.
