Nancy L. Wood
As director of development for 90.5 WESA and WYEP 91.3, Nancy L. Wood oversees all of the fundraising efforts for both stations, helping to secure the primary source of funding to help both stations accomplish their missions.
Nancy grew up in the Rocky Mountains and has a long public radio history, starting her career while still a student at the University of Wyoming with Wyoming Public Radio. She moved “onward and upward,” with stints in Phoenix at KJZZ and KBAQ, in Chicago at WBEZ, at Prairie Public Broadcasting Fargo, North Dakota and, most recently, at Nevada Public Radio in Las Vegas. She is a self-proclaimed “NPR geek” and a certified music fanatic, and says she couldn’t have found a better fit for this chapter of her career. She cites Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and Lyle Lovett’s “Joshua Judges Ruth” among her top albums of all time and admits to harboring tiny crushes on Ira Glass and Peter Sagal.
She lives in Mount Washington with her three feline children, Jersey, Levon and Macca. She is looking forward to exploring the city she now calls home and welcomes suggestions.
