All The Harry Potter And Beer You Can Consume: Social Club Feb. 24

This week, WESA’s Sarah Kovash, Josh Raulerson and Rachel Carlson of Yelp Pittsburgh hang out at 21st Street Coffee and Tea in the Strip District. This weekend is full of dance parties, beer and … Harry Potter.

Kick off the weekend with Pittsburgh Beerfest at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. It runs Friday and Saturday and features beers from around the country, as well as local brews from Yellow Bridge, 412 Brewery, Arsenal Cider, Church Brew Works and more.

If you get your brews in early, you could also head over to the In Bed By Ten dance party at Spirit. Dance the night away – or at least until 9 p.m. This week, party goers' $5 donations go to the Western Pennsylvania Fund For Choice.

And with the warm weather this week, it’ll be easy to pretend you’re in a tropical location at the National Aviary’s High Seas Escape on Friday. Wear your best pirate gear or channel a colorful parrot and “be ready to shake your tail feather on the dance floor.” In addition to dancing, you can check out a treasure hunt and watch a parrot paint. That's right.

Friday’s full of dance parties, with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater hosting a “Down the Rabbit Hole” dance party. Feel free to bust out your best “Alice in Wonderland” garb.

And Harry Potter fans rejoice! It’s nonstop Harry Potter at Row House Cinema until March 2. You can catch all the films, drink butter beer and dress in solidarity with your favorite house. Find the full list of Potter showings and events here.
