Biden Visits PA Barbecue Restaurant on Campaign Stop

Vice President Joe Biden made a quick stop in Washington, PA on Thursday, talking with patrons at Hog father's BBQ. His visit was not announced ahead of time, he walked into the restaurant to applause from diners.

"I hear the food's pretty good here," said Biden as he walked through the doors.

Mr. Biden had just come from Martins Ferry in Ohio where he made an earlier campaign stop. The vice president spoke briefly with patrons at the restaurant and answered a few reporter questions. In response to a reporter question of why he stopped in the area, Biden said it's because of the hard-working people.

"These are good good people, these people are ready to do whatever it takes to get things straight," he said.

Biden pointed to peoples' willingness to chip in, work together and they realize there's no easy way to get out of "this recession we inherited."

Though his visit wasn't announced, some supporters found out ahead of time and were there to greet him, including Washington Mayor Brenda Davis. Another supporter, Bob Sabot, got to talk to Biden for a few minutes.

"Joe Biden's a good man, he understands the people, he understands the people in this area," said Sabot.

As he was leaving, Biden's last words to reporters in the room were an echo of something his father used to tell him.

"He used to say, Joe, I don't expect the government to solve my problem, but I at least expect them to understand it."
