Essential Pittsburgh To Host Forum On Americans With Disabilities Act

The public is invited to join 90.5 WESA and Essential Pittsburgh on July 15 for a community forum on our city and the Americans with Disabilities Act. How far have we come, and what remains to be done? As technology progresses, how should policy evolve?

The forum will be hosted by Paul Guggenheimer. Panelists include:

  • Paul O Hanlon – Disability rights attorney, member of the City-County Task Force on Disabilities.
  • Mary Hartley – Lead Consultant, Policy and Advocacy for the United Way of Allegheny County’s ‘21 and Able’ effort to streamline service systems for young people with disabilities looking for employment.
  • Gabriel McMorland – co-organizer of the Pittsburgh Accessibility Meetup, a group hosting monthly events about creating an accessible world.
  • Josie Badger – Youth Director for the Parent Education & Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center helping parents of children with disabilities to assist other parents of children with disabilities and special health care needs.

Registration is closed for this event. The forum will  be broadcast live on 90.5 WESA starting at 7 p.m. July 15. Thank you!
