Knitting, Tea & Jenga, It's Time To Get Crazy: Social Club March 4

Did you know that next week it’s going to be in the 70s? That means you are going to need lots of fun things to do. Luckily, WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are here. Rachel’s got a bit of a cold but if she’s going out this weekend, then you have no excuse.  So here are your weekend plans…

The Winter Tea Fest is this weekend all around the burgh. Join other tea-enthusiasts and find some of the best tea in the area. The full list of events can be found here.

Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festivalis here to keep you warm the rest of winter. This event will feature over 100 classes in knit, crochet, hands on long arm quilting, paper arts, felting and more. In case you haven't been outside, it's still cold out. So go ahead, make something warm.

Bricolage’s B.U.S 11 is this weekend. It’s a 24-hour whirl-wind play festival. Pittsburgh playwrights ride the bus and create a story. Then a team of directors, actors and playwrights work together to produce and perform the show, all in 24 hours! This will be unlike anything you have ever seen before. This year, the event will be held at the August Wilson Center.

TechShop in Bakery Square has quite the busy weekend. Friday, they will hold a happy hour from 5-8pm. This will be the kick-off of First Friday’s on Penn. Enjoy local brews while playing some fun activities like Jenga, DIY crafts and more. Sunday is their clothing swapfrom 2-5pm. Do some spring cleaning and get rid of clothes you don’t need. Then nullify all that work and  fill in all that space with the great new stuff you got at the clothing swap.

On Sunday, it’s time to wind down and do some beer and yoga with The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company. No, seriously. The hour-long class begins at 11am and another one kicks off at 12:30pm. Tickets are $5 and include a complimentary 5oz beer. So get yourself a drink and a little zen.

Mixtape Dance Lounge and Specialty Bar is holding a cocktail lab on Saturday March 5th at 6pm. Learn the history of your favorite drinks and how to create some amazing cocktails.

It’s a low key weekend, so go out and enjoy these leisurely activities.  Rachel, get better soon!
