Pittsburgh-area cyclists have more options for getting around the region on two wheels these days. The Montour Trail airport connector opens today, and the 150-mile Great Allegheny Passage between Pittsburgh and Cumberland, Maryland is now all but complete.

This year, there's another option for riders with an interest in American history: a historic stretch of western Pennsylvania byways is now part of a larger Underground Railroad bicycle tour being offered through the Adventure Cycling Association.

The group's executive director, Jim Sayer, was in town on a sunny morning last month. Essential Public Radio's Josh Raulerson met up with Sayer downtown for a ride along the Underground Railroad Pittsburgh Spur.
