The World Cafe Sense of Place Series Comes to Pittsburgh

World Cafe Live
/
WXPN

David Dye, host of WXPN's World Cafe Live came to Pittsburgh back in November for the Sense of Place Series. The collection of interviews and performances airs this week.

While he was here, Dye tapped WYEP Morning Mix host, Cindy Howes, local Soul Man Billy Price, and Jerry Weber of Jerry's Records in Squirrel Hill, for a taste of Pittsburgh music from the past and present.

Cindy tells me they'll be highlighting some of her local favorites like Joy Ike, Broken Fences, and Donora, as well as an archived session with Rusted Root and a look at the influence of Stephen Foster.

The World Cafe Sense of Place: Pittsburgh show airs Wednesday December 11 on 91.3 WYEP.
