Music from India is the longest-running Indian music program in the country. It is hosted by Harish Saluja and Dr. Vijay Bahl. Both hosts volunteer not only their time but their personal music collections where the playlist comes from over 2,000 pieces.

Harish Saluja

Co-host, Music From India

Harish is a filmmaker, artist and entrepreneur.  His film, The Journey (www.newray.com), won several awards, was shown in over 30 film festivals and was distributed by the Independent Film Channel). He also has a strong business background as a 30-year veteran in the publishing industry. In addition, he is a nationally recognized painter, having shown his work in Europe and USA.

In 1972 he became the host of Music From India. The two-hour program features the music of the Indian subcontinent, ranging from popular Hindi film scores to Indian classical music, jazz and Fusion.

Dr. Vijay Bahl

Co-host, Music From India

Vijay Bahl, M.D. is  co-host of the program Music from India for last 30+ years. Dr. Bahl is a clinical professor of medicine within the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is also the co-director of the UPMC Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program. He also serves as the Chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the UPMC Shadyside campus.  Dr. Bahl is board certified in internal medicine, and endocrinology and metabolism, Dr. Bahl is a past medical staff president of Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he also completed an internal medicine residency and an endocrinology fellowship.

Dr. Bahl is a member of the American Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, Allegheny County Medical Society where he sits on the Board of Directors. Dr. Bahl is widely published for his research and work in diabetes mellitus and speaks extensively.
