Beer Fest

Order! Order! It’s time for Social Club. If you are like WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel,  you have been watching way too much Netflix, so it’s time to go out and explore all the fun things going on in the city. You can always watch Making a Murderer and Jessica Jones when you get back.

What's the Big 'Dill?' Social Club July 17

Jul 16, 2015

This weekend's events are kind of a big "dill" since PicklesBurgh comes to town. Events include demonstrations from chefs, live music and pickle themed food and games, including a pickle juice drinking competition. The free event will be held on Friday evening and all day Saturday on the Rachel Carson Bridge.

Soup, Suds and Screen Printing: Social Club Feb. 20

Shivering in your boots, hats, scarves and mittens? We are too. Luckily, there are a bunch of events happening around town this weekend (and even next Tuesday!) to keep us entertained and warm.

Being Busy is So 2015: Social Club, Jan. 9

Jan 8, 2015

Let’s talk about New Years Resolutions.

Want a new hobby? Sip beer and learn about the brewing process while meeting brewing experts at Pittsburgh Brew N Chew!

Perhaps your goal is to try new things. Schedule a reservation for that so-hip dining spot during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week.

How about the old classic: “This year, I’ll get in shape!” Grab a kettlebell and get ready to pump some iron at a free class at Get Fit at Stout Training Pittsburgh.

Or, maybe you just want to enjoy life a bit more: prepare your best belly laugh for Second City’s N’Ats All Folks show – a comedic act making fun of everything Pittsburgh.

We love our booze — ahem, our craft beers — here at the Social Club podcast, so of course the upcoming Beer Fest is one of Josh and Rachel’s favorite happenings this weekend. For the sober-minded, however, there’s no need to worry: this week’s events include yoga in the square, fashion trucks, and overlooked Pittsburgh barbecue. Listen in for why, “This is like, deliberate yoga, not just a weirdo running around the Square.”
