At 2 p.m. on Sunday, 90.5 WESA is trying out a new cooking show, "America's Test Kitchen" from PBS. However it isn't a radio version of the TV show. Host Chris Kimball joins us to explain what's different.

And we'll talk with Ophira Eisenberg, host of the game show "Ask Me Another" which debuts Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Ms. Eisenberg was selected as one of New York Magazine's "Top ten comics that funny people find funny."

The special is hosted by legendary journalist Robert MacNeil. Listeners will hear from JFK colleagues who were with him during his first political race in 1946, until his last days in office. Famous names and voices wrestle with grief and memory; they provide intimate details on JFK the man, the president and father.

Essential Pittsburgh: Gold Star Children and America's Longest War
Noon and 8 p.m.

An estimated 5,000 American children lost a parent to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. Children who have lost a parent to war are the subject of the documentary Gold Star Children: Two Generations Sharing Loss and Healing, premiering Monday on the Pentagon channel. This Veterans Day, Essential Pittsburgh will talk with the film’s writer, producer and director Mitty Griffis Mirrer.


Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act begins soon. The overhaul of the health care system is confusing and raises a lot of questions. On Thursday, 90.5 WESA’s daily magazine program Essential Pittsburgh will host a public forum to answer your questions on the Affordable Care Act.
