Did Someone Say Bacon Festival? Social Club May 15

What better way to start your Saturday than with bacon? The America Loves Bacon Tour arrives in Station Square from 1pm-6pm. Guests can sample bacon from vendors across the country, attend musical performances by six local bands or compete in a bacon eating contest.

Feeling a little guilty after all that bacon consumption? Head over to the Venture Outdoor Festival at Point State Park for free events all day, including a climbing wall, yoga, kayaking, fishing, biking and a kids zone.

Saturday afternoon continues in quite possibly the cutest way, with the Animal Friends Lawrenceville Cat Crawl from 10am-4pm! For $10, guests receive an Animal Friends bag to fill with goodies provided by participating vendors throughout Lawrenceville. Proceeds will benefit Animal Friends to care for new kittens being born in the area.

If you want to feel warm and fuzzy in a different way, head over to the Strip District at 3pm for Wine and Consign for a Cure! $25-$50 tickets will allow you to sample wine, and a chance to swap some of your gently used clothing.

The last of Saturday's activities is Assemble’s annual fundraiser, MakerDate Night. Guests can bid on a "date" with "makers" who are specialists in their field. The guest with the winning bid wins the maker for a private lesson in areas including welding, designing an outdoor game, and helping create a documentary about the Pittsburgh food scene.
