Winter storm warnings and watches were in effect throughout the Northeast on Sunday, and icy roads made for hazardous travel as far south as North Carolina. Between 1 and 3 inches of snow fell in much of Western Pennsylvania, with more recorded south and east of Pittsburgh and in the Laurel Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
