How to Hear 90.5 WESA

Over the air 90.5 WESA can be heard on 90.5 FM in Pittsburgh, PA; 92.3 FM in New Baltimore; 100.5 FM in Johnstown, and 104.1 FM in Ligonier and Somerset.

This is the stream from our regular station, also transmitted as 90.5 HD1. We are Pittsburgh's NPR news and information station, with programming from NPR, APM and other public radio networks, as well as locally-produced shows like Essential Pittsburgh. At night, we air news from the BBC World Service.

Listening to Streams

To listen on this page, simply click on the stream you want to listen to in the players in our header above our large logo at the top left of the page. It should begin to play immediately. Press the pause button to stop the stream, and play to begin it again.

Known Issues

Because we rely on third-parties to get our content to you how you want it (like iTunes and Stitcher) sometimes all of the pieces aren't compatible. We will post known problems and solutions/explainers here. 

  • My stream stops every time my Apple device goes to sleep!

Yep. We know about this one and unfortunately, it is an issue with Apple.  We suggest either turning off your sleep function or using the NPR News App to listen to us.
