Feel the need to cool off? You can do so while helping raise money for charity at the Great American Water Balloon Fight this Saturday. Join the fight and select one of four teams as they attempt to stay dry and raise money to help fight global poverty. The battle will be preceded by live music from Gypsy and his Band of Ghosts, Red Hands, Young Fox, and Jimbo and the Soupbones, all leading up to 100,000 water balloons hitting the field. Come out for a day of food, music, and a whole lot of water. Gates open at 10 a.m., with live music playing until the fight begins at 1 p.m. The fight runs this Saturday at Highmark Stadium in Station Square.

If you’ve never been to the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, now might be a good time to visit. The theater is offering 50 percent off their SummerFest tickets to any newcomers as a way to introduce a newer audience to the joys of opera. If it isn’t your first time, however, you can still come out to see Mozart’s "The Secret Gardener" this Sunday. This all-ages comedy will appeal to families with children as well as Mozart aficionados. The matinee showing begins at 2:30 this Sunday at the Twentieth Century Club in Oakland.
